Background:

In September 2020, the FAA announced it will issue a Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) and Record of Decision (ROD), with no further opportunity for public comment, in the wake of Executive Order 13927.

This would allow the first ever launch of commercial rockets over a unit of the National Wilderness Preservation System.

The Problem:

Every possible trajectory from Spaceport Camden will pass over Cumberland Island National Seashore, located just 4 to 10 miles downrange.

One rocket failure over Cumberland’s Wilderness Area could destroy centuries-old maritime forests, the habitat of multiple threatened and endangered species, and a National Historic District.

Something has to be done!

The Actions:

We swiftly went to work and crafted a logo, website and messaging to gain exposure and drive people to sign a Change.org petition.

      Educate the public about the dangers of the proposed launch site so they know the facts.
    • CUMBERLAND ISLAND EDUCATION
      Educate the public about how rockets will launch over the protected wilderness of Cumberland Island.
    • DRIVE TO THE PETITION
      Gather signatures by drving viewers to the Change.org petition.
    • SEND PRE-WRITTEN MESSAGES
      Viewers can send pre-written emails to Gov. Kemps office, the FAA and the DNR.
