Overview:
Hidden behind a stack of shipping containers in Atlanta’s Summerhill neighborhood, Halfway Crooks Biergarten becomes the epicenter of underground culture every third Saturday. That’s when Crafts & Crates brings together hip-hop heads, vinyl collectors, and craft beer lovers for a monthly event unlike any other.
The organizers — DJ Dainja (Beatminerz, Psyche Origami) and Mike More— needed a visual identity that captured the raw, underground energy of the event while feeling intentional and brand-worthy. With an arched stage, crates of vinyl, and performances from influential names like John Robinson, 4-Ize, J-Live, Nicolay, Liuns Den and more, the brand needed to visually hold its own.
Approach:
As a long-time supporter and collaborator within the scene, I had already been in touch with the organizers and was brought in early. We explored multiple creative directions, ultimately landing on a logotype that blends the aesthetics of graffiti, record sleeve typography, and craft beer can design — a visual bridge between street culture and artisan sensibilities.
Result:
The new identity has anchored Crafts & Crates as a standout event in Atlanta’s cultural calendar. Resident DJs like Peppermint Gatty and DJ Mafioso continue to build momentum, supported by the cohesive look and feel of the brand across flyers, social content, and vinyl pop-ups.

I am designing the flyer each month for the event. We switch out the DJ’s, special guests and the vinyl dealer if needed.
Animated Flyer Designs

Animated Screensaver
The Beirgarten’s stage has a giant screen behind the DJ’s. I had a concept for an animated screensaver where the letters were filling up with craft beer.
